It's just a beginning

I am trying to update this space every day but not happening, of course I can’t blame anybody. It’s purely my laziness is the culprit. Hope things will improve in the near future.

I started exploring wordpress and opened a blog there. Quite a lot of things than blogspot, I would definitely say. I am determined to psot on technical writing stuffs at least once in two days there.

And long weekend (wait, 3 days in a row)is nearing. A lot of activities in the queue.

Beat the Fear

If you want to beat the fear on doing soemthing, Just do the same without any second thought. Gradually your fear will vanish. I have a lot of personal experience to support this statement. I feared to rid a bi-cycle on my child-hood days. I managed to learn but not had enough guts to practice. On one fine day, I just took the cycle and went for a rid to the nearest town without any thinking. After that incident, I gained enough confidence to handle the cycle on busy roads. The fear is no more.

This principle can be adapted in all situations. People are phobic towards
  • Swimming
  • Telephonic conversations
  • Height Buildings
  • Riding in a Roller-Goaster
  • Visiting a bank
So for what are you waiting for? Just Jump into the action and drive away your fear or phobia towards anything.

Wavering Mind

Though I wanted to scribble here every day, I am not able to do so. Well, I thought of writing my thoughts on wavering mindset. Not always, not everybody will be in stable mind to take firm decisions. But keeping one’s mind in a wavering mood is not only disturbing for their self but those who are associated, close ones also get affected.

One should be able to take their own decision or at least should lend their ears to others/expert opinion. If someone is stubborn of not to take any others advise, it’s like digging their own grave yard. Of course, it will affect their near and dears also.

One should not be in a wavering mindset in the following cases:
  • Career
  • Choosing their life partner
  • Day-today responsible jobs like driving.
Today I witnessed a wavering mindset of my dear one and it really irritated and spoiled my mood in my work place. What could I do? I have to bare with great tolerance.

Try to put your feet in others shoes

I always admire this proverb from the day I came across this one. I can relate myself with this proverb on many occasions of my life. Today one thing happened which made me to think this proverb and induced me to write this blog.
Our house maiden took leave for three days. So she deputed her relative in her absence. Being new, the deputant girl came 7.30 early morning (yeeh, for bangalore people 7.30 is early  morning only). My wife was busy in starting her kitchen activites and nothing started ofcourse. So unanimously we asked her to come by 9.30 am. She also agreed and left our place.
Around 8.50 am again that new deputant came and knocked the door. Now my wife is half-way thru with her kitchen activites but not fully completed. So again she was requested to come by 1.00 pm. This time the new deputant's face went long. Yeeh, I could find the difference. Of course it's very irritating to go back and again re-visiting for the second time. Now let me think of this post title.

Let us assume you are about to join a new company and the day you report to some X or Y, you was asked to come on another day as some process or some person-in-charge was not available on that day. For the first time you will be going back cursing your fate. Again when you report second time, If you were told to come back after one week, what could be your feeling?  This is what the pro-verb mean.

Rarely people understand other feelings and react accordingly. Well, an Experience is a good teacher, conducts the test and teaches the lesson. right..?  :)

It's Onam time

All malayalis celebrate onam today. It is an occasion where the king Mahabali visits his kingdom to see his people once in a year. Just to show that his people are living happily, they decorate their houses with flowers, called pookolam, wears new dresses and prepare delecious dishes on onam.

All kerala channels like Asianet, surya tv etc broadcast onam special programmes, celebrities(usually actress) interviews, new films etc. It's so pleasant to hear their music. :)

Improving Relationships

Yesterday I was quite amazed the way our chat session proceeded. No arguements, comments, interceptical talks. I expressed myself clearly and acknowledged properly from that side. So I'd like to draw some guidelines for a proper chat as follows:
  1. Speak less and listen more and more.
  2. Acknowledge constantly rather than maintaining the silence.
  3. Unless if someone ask your opinion, don't open out volunteerily.
  4. Make sure your mike, speakers are functioning properly.
Did I missed any other valid points..?

Just another scribbling

I planned to write everyday. But for the past two days, I have nothing to update or I am reluctant to scribe anything in this space. Hope my attitude will change gradually.
Few people are very interesting to be notified in a notorious way. They tend to project themselves by cheap publicity. Their activites ususally brings smile in my face. A lot of people of such kinds are there in the Tamil blog world. Today I happen to read such a one that brought me smile. Funny people. :)

PowerPoint presentation into Video

Today I came across an interesting query: How to convert a PowerPoint presentation into Video?
While googling, I got to know a lot of freewares able to accomplish this task easily. So thought of saving those links in my diary I mean as a post. :)

Here we go:

  1. http://www.ispringsolutions.com/products/ispring_free
  2. http://www.authorgen.com/authorpoint-lite-free/powerpoint-flash-conversion.asp
  3. http://www.sharewareconnection.com/download-conaito-ppt-to-flash-converter-from-sharecon.html
  4. http://www.sameshow.com/download/ppt2flash-download.html
  5. http://media-convert.com/
  6. http://download.binarynow.com/actpres1.exe
  7. http://kannani.blogspot.com/2009/08/activepresenter-home.html
  8. http://kannani.blogspot.com/2009/08/convert-output-to-video.html
ActivePresenter can export your presentation in video formats (AVI, WMV, MPEG4), Flash Video (FLV), Microsoft Word (requires MS Word 2000 or higher), Microsoft PowerPoint (requires MS PowerPoint 2000 or higher), Adobe PDF, HTML Slideshow, or an AJAX-based interactive presentation.

Useful info, isn't..?

Just a beginning

Few years before I used to write diary everyday which I gave up after some years. I thought of starting that habit again. But again, the privacy matters. Blog is a good way of keeping track of our daily happenings, say online diary. You have got lot of privacy settings:
You can
  1. Make your blog public
  2. make it private
  3. Invite few people to read your thoughts
So I decided to go ahead with this option. Hope I will update my diary frequently.
